Wonderful large Tapestry panel

This large tapestry was brought in by a lady who has spent over 20 years creating this and two other panels depicting Irish lighthouses, as her father was a light house keeper in Ireland.
The tapestry had to be hand laced over foam core board and framed in a hand made and stained ash frame.
A remarkable piece of work.

Box - Framed Sheep's Head

This beautiful piece of work was made from hand made felt and real sheep's wool and created by Helen Taylor of Stroud in Gloucester.
An unusual project - 3 Neolithic arrowheads

These arrowheads were brought in to us by a customer who had inherited a large collection of Neolithic artefacts from his mother, an avid archaeologist who went out searching for items every day and had an amazingly keen eye.

Monday 29 May 2017

portrait of a nun, which was originally painted in 1656 but then copied in 1886 in Paris, was brought in to us to be re-stretched on to its original frame, as it had been ripped off. Once it had been stretched, we observed that there were bad patches of mould, so we offered to give it a specialist cleaning which we undertook.

The stretched and cleaned canvas was then reassembled in its original frame which also had to be repaired. Picture on the top is before cleaning and the bottom is after.
